Man, this takes me back. You'd never guess by looking at it, but this magazine ad was only my second published creation. Ever.
In hindsight, I was lucky to get the opportunity. JVC of America funded the ad, so the people in charge there would have been justified using their in-house talent. Instead, they let me do it. Me, a kid with basically no experience. Whoever made that decision, I'd love to shake their hand.
But whatever debt I owed them was instantly repaid with results. The finished ad looked great and sent a clear message. In my opinion, it still holds up today.
